Norman Bander, M.S. Ed., M.Phil.
I’m Norman Bander, and I’ve been a private tutor for decades, guiding students through advanced exams including the SAT, ACT, LSAT, GMAT, GRE among others. Even though many colleges now offer test-optional admissions, strong SAT and ACT scores still make a difference, and I help students maximize their potential on these exams.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of helping hundreds of students achieve important academic and professional milestones. Many have gone on to become lawyers, judges, CEOs, doctors and other leaders in their fields. My approach focuses on building confidence, sharpening skills, and providing individualized guidance, particularly for students tackling advanced studies or learning differences.
I hold two Master’s degrees — one in Education from Lehman College and another in Philosophy from Columbia University, where I completed doctoral coursework in Education. I’ve also taught as a professor at the University of Maryland and West Point Military Academy.
My teaching has been recognized for both its energy and effectiveness, including receiving the “Best Teacher in the Tri-State Area” award from Stanley Kaplan. Today, I continue to provide personalized, results-driven tutoring for families in Westchester County and beyond — families who value high-quality learning experiences and measurable outcomes.
I welcome prospective students and families to contact me for a free consultation to discuss how I can help you achieve your academic goals. Call (914) 365-8878, or email me at NormanBander@ScarsdaleEducationCenter.com.
